Resources

askON librarians help students explore and use authoritative resources.

Knowledge Ontario Resources

askON librarians have ready access to the full suite of databases licensed by Knowledge Ontario (KO) and are ready to help students use them.

Customized Knowledge Base

Ask Ontario develops and maintains a unique Knowledge Base. Developed by several teacher-librarians it contains links to authoritative websites on a wide range of subjects associated with Ontario’s curriculum. It is freely available at : delicious.com/askon

Resources to which they are entitled

If a student is a public library card holder at one of askON’s 23 participating public libraries askON staff can help the student access and use their public libraries’ licensed resources.

Google and other search engines

We are not against popular Internet search engines. They can be useful. askON librarians help students use search engines more effectively by offering alternate search strategies and encouraging students to question the reliability and authority of the information they find.
